to be very clear, the Riv in question is mine. I've never seen other one up here, not to say that there aren't any :-)
Was setting out to ride around the lake yesterday. It is a popular ride, and there are more cyclists up here every year. Our cottage is on M-22, and there is a constant stream of cyclists all day. Some folks were walking down the road, when one stopped, made an immediate turn, and came over to me... "that's a Rivendell jersey!" etc. etc. etc. Then he had to admire Bleriot (in travel mode, rather than front/rear rack, hammered Honjo, generator-hub-wheel mode). Took awhile to escape from the driveway! Finished the ride a couple of hours later (was ambushed by many photogenic wildflowers and a tub of smoked whitefish spread from the original fishmonger in town). My SIL: "that guy was really interested in your bike." Me: "Yeah. It happens fairly often..."
