Hey all, this is helpful information!

Bryan - the Paul/Garbaruk combo sounds neat. I have one of Garb's
cassettes and it's very nice.

Erik - noted on the 110 and do you have photos of the White/Vivo
drivetrain? Would love to ogle haha

Perhaps I should contact Paul Comp directly since they list offset in the
negatives while SRAM/Cane Creek show positive values for offset. Unsure
whether its semantics or literally different directions... I'm trying to
make the decision *before* buying a BB

Well, I’m still here! And while I don’t run that bike 1x anymore, I think
that I used a 110 spindle to get the chainline in the position I wanted, if
memory serves. I now run a 1x on my Gus these days with an IRD 122
spindle, but it’s a 73 shell and I have massive tires that the chain has to
clear, so I run it a little further outboard. I run that with White
Industries square taper cranks and a 1x12 (10-52) Garbaruk cassette with a
Vivo 12-speed derailleur.

Hope that helps!

Lol Bill - here's hoping the old crew is still around! I found this thread
while googling.

I'll be running 100% Paul Cranks with a SRAM spider: so either 6.5 or 7.5mm
offset. Wonder what the offset would be for a S!lver triple?

I'm not confident enough to calculate the chain line so was wondering if I
could get what I need from the hive mind.

You responded to a 5 year old post so I'll guess that poster may not be

To run a Silver crank as a 1x with a narrow-wide ring in the middle
position, I'd recommend a 107mm. On some builds you may even be able to
get by with a 103mm, but those are much less common. 107 should be super
easy to find or even already present in a home-mechanics parts box.

Can I ask what BB Spindle length you're running here? Looking to 1x my
Waterford Atlantis.

Cheers!

I am running a 1x on my MIT Atlantis. It's worked flawlessly so far. I'm
running a Wolf Tooth 34t chain ring on a Silver triple crankset in the
middle position with a Silver guard on the outer ring. It is a nearly
perfect chainline. I'm set up with a massive SunRace 11 x 50 cassette in
the back with a SRAM GX 11 speed and a SRAM trigger shifter on. the bar.
I wanted to do a set up on this bike that differentiated it from my
Appaloosa. So this one is more on the mountain / hilly-bike side of
things. I really like the simplicity of 1x, particularly for off-road.

Anyone doing a 1x on their Rivendell? Any chain line or other issues?
