Hey Rob,
I'll send you a list of the gear in my kit.
Its not my lightest kit, but one that emphsizes a bit more comfort on such a
long tour.
Ultralight gear is great for S24O's! Or 9,000 mile rides.
It makes the use of saddlebags, baskets and even ordinary stuffsacks lashed
to lighter top load racks a viable alternative to the standard "fully loaded
touring" way.
And lighter loads mean you don't need a full on touring bike.
Check out Igor Kovse's site Losing Weight at
ultralightcycling.blogspot.comto see a example of this philosophy
taken to the bleeding edge in some
pretty remote corners of the globe.
After looking at his setup, you may start to consider a Roadeo as a viable
third-world touring machine
