I recently sold my Hillborne frame set back in Michigan, and I just took delivery of the wheel set that I shipped to myself back in California. I no longer own any 135mm O.L.D. bikes, so I'm offering this wheelset up for sale. I'd call it something close to the ultimate Hillborne wheel set, featuring my very favorite rim-brake rims, the HED Belgium C2 Plus, my favorite 135mm rear hub, the White Industries MI5, and a great value dynamo front hub, the Kaisai from Rivendell.
I've said often that in a just world, everything used should be half-retail. So let's figure out retail: $180 rims, a $400 rear hub, a $140 front hub, and $100 spokes. That's a $1000 wheelset. So, they are available to you for $500 picked up or delivered in the Bay Area, and $500 plus shipping anywhere else. As a plus/bonus, the wheelset includes a nice set of Silver Deore XT QR skewers. Let me know if you want/need photos. If nobody wants them, I'll probably buy a 130mm axle from White Industries and re-purpose them elsewhere in my stable.
