Steve, FWIW, I have a pair of Rich-Lesnick-built Velocity Dyads on the SON28 hub. I've been happy so far (3 yrs). I have a SP SV-8 (part of my Crust 650b wheelset), and I have 2 Shimanos (one on a very hard working Yuba cargo bike that has lived outdoors and ridden year-round since 2019 with the weight or 2 kids).

Is your wheelbuild for 300k brevets or city commuting? Comment 3: The SP SV-8 is a smidge less power (6V 2.4 watt nominal as opposed to the 6V 3W of the SON28 and most Shimanos).
