I went on a mixed surface ride today on my favorite bike for such rides, the Legolas. http://www.flickr.com/photos/79695...@n00/4775212992/in/set-72157607471577085/ Here in Western Colorado, I climbed from Grand Junction up Little Park Road to Glade Park, gaining at least 2500ft vertical. On the way back down, I detoured onto the Lunch Loop trails http://www.gjmountainbiking.com/Images/tabby-sml.jpg
Even with 35mm Marathon Cross tires inflated to 50psi, the Legolas was not too overbiked for the paved climb. But at my skill level I was seriously underbiked for the ride down the very rocky Tabequache trail. So I took the Lagolas for a walk for maybe 40% of the trail, especially the aptly-named Widow Maker hill. All in all, a great bike for rough rides. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
