I am not lucky enough that the rain leached color to my pants. This happened one other time in my white jeans, NO rain. Why do I never learn.
I’ll be better behaved in Grand Rapids. See you then. Leah, It’s definitely from the Brooks WET saddle. The color dyes do run off the leather, if new, or it may be the Proofhide. But it is from the wet saddle. So- AFTER you were in the shop, NOT before.
Darkish pants are in order. Sorry for your embarrassment!
I’m guessing a stain-pre-wash will take care of it. Let it soak. It may need something like WD-40 or hydrogen peroxide to get out the stain.

It’s my Brooks! And I have no idea when the color transferred to those pants, but I suspect it was there when I was at that restaurant. I didn’t get the saddle very wet, so….
There were no women there. Only men. I think a woman would have pulled me aside… Oh my Leah. That looks like a saddle shape to me. So somehow your wet saddle leached some stain??! It isn’t poppy pants. Hahaha. Which is the first place minds go based on the unfortunate location. Maybe no one even noticed.

Before I show you, I must tell you that I wore this on a 25 mile ride yesterday. The ride was around a beautiful lake. I would stop in the South Bay where there is a little cafe and I would have a sandwich and maybe even some ice cream there. Then I would ride the final 7 miles home.
BUT. No sooner had I placed an order than my iPhone alerted me of an incoming rainstorm. This was not in the forecast! had 15 minutes. I made small talk with the other patrons, grabbed my sandwich when my number was called, tossed it in the basket and raced home those last 7 miles. I got wet, but not drenched. I ate my only-slightly-wet chicken sandwich. I was feeling pretty good about myself.
Just now, I was sorting clothes to wash, and I came across my pants - that’s I’d worn yesterday. I had hastily shucked them and hit the shower. But today…well…I could not believe what I was seeing.

Please give me your best theory on what has happened to these pants.
I WAS WALKING AROUND, TALKING TO PEOPLE WHILE WEARING THESE PANTS. The good Michiganders just acting like everything was fine and this cyclist is not weird. Who knows what they thought?!
