Thanks Rusty, I have myself to blame for it. I decided pretty much last minute to deadhead the first day ride since I had that weekend off. I also tried to do make a century out of it by reversing course at the second to last stop. I ended up with about 63 miles that day and the total miles to the first stop city was 72 or so, if I remember correctly. Rescue SAG picked me and my bike up and took me to first stop town and a friend came out to get me and bring me back to Sioux City for my car. My friend, who just got back into riding the fall before was taken aback by the whole endeavor. She did her first organized ride a month later when she did the 5 mile course of Corporate Cycling Challenge in Omaha.
Anyway, I sort of kick myself for not just riding it to the first stop city. Looking back with the heat and the hills that would have been accomplishment enough. Live and learn.
