Another Atlantan (at mile 10.5 on the Comet). I’m not going to make it, but info for Tom and Drew — The AMTRAK Crescent is the train. It is usually an hour or two late, and takes roll-on roll-off bikes between specific stations with facilities (ATL but not Anniston Al, unfortunately, as that is the terminus of the “Comet”) - check about Philly. I took it to New Orleans, with my Sam. Schedule says it leaves ATL at 8:43, ours left at 9:30. Schedule says it arrives NOLA at 9:02, ours arrived at 10:30. Be advised. Going North, schedule says it leaves ATL at 11:29 PM. Ours arrived back from NOLA to ATL at 12:30 AM. Going North it is a red-eye, coming into Philly supposedly at 4:57 PM. Not too long in a seat… The sad truth is that the Crescent gets diverted onto sidings whenever a freight train needs to pass. Hence the tardiness.
