Doug, It replaced a basket and Mark’s rack. I rarely maxed out the capacity of the basket so having the weight cantilevered off the front end was unnecessary. If I lived where I could leave a bike unattended I would have made better use of the basket. The bag carries most of what I need it to and is quick to swap to a different bike. For me, it has more utility.
