Thanks. Those photos reminded me of the annual swarms of mayflies whose numbers would explode at the beginning of the summer rains in East Africa. We had batteries of outdoor lights around our somewhat isolated (surrounded by sq miles of coffee plantation) house to protect against the then-common armed gang attacks, and these things would swarm around the lights, very quickly lose their gossamer wings, and fall to the ground in pullulating masses on the ground. Others would swarm in the air to provide a magnificent feast for birds.
