Except that I really do not do events, this is my plan as well. For everyday and light touring use on my soon to be built Rando style bike, I am building wheels with a Royce rear hub, regular Son front matched with a set of 40h Mavic M-2 rims I got from Jan Heine. These rims will wear Hetres as long as the tires hold out. For sunny Sunday afternoon riding around town and on the local trails I have a set of 36h Rigida Sphinx rims on which I will mount the Pari- Motos. Currently, I am agonizing about which hubs to use for the Rims. I have a NOS Maxi-Car rear hub I could match with a SonDeluxe if I want to keep light options. Or, I could use a nice NOS set of Campy Nuovo Hubs currently displayed in my living room. Lately I wonder if it might not be fun to get matching set of Royce hubs. The Maxi-Car SonDeluxe seems most logical, as the bike will be wired with dynamo lights. It is just that I cannot think of why I would want the Pari-Motos on for night riding.
