I like my Silver shifters a lot. They appear to me to be exact copies of Suntour Sprint shifters from the mid 80's. As I've been setting up a couple bikes, I had the motivation to search for the Suntour originals. On ebay, there are sellers that have them 'Buy it now' for $60 - $80. Then I found this guy who was auctioning a set starting at $14.99 new in box. I bid and won at $20 + shipping. I got them in the mail and they are brand new, like time capsule from 1983. Perfecto. I saw the same seller list them again, so I asked him if he'd give me a deal on a few more, and he agreed to sell 4 more pair to me for $80 shipped. He said he had to 'open up another case' to get the fourth set. So, the guy seems to have a lot of these completely new, Suntour Sprint retro-friction downtube shifters, which work perfectly on barcon adapters. If anyone wants to contact him and get some, let me know. I'm stocked for life now.
