BB's chasing and facing my worthless opinion: Cup and cone BB? *Yes! *The cup sitting perfectly true is integral to the BB functioning correctly, and the lockring won't lock well against paint. Sealed bearing unit? *Nah*, don't worry about it. Anything slightly off is completely compensated for by the BB itself being a closed system merely relying on compression tension from the threads.
