Second on the RandiJo cover. For my Brooks saddles, hers is a clever design that features an under-the-saddle piece that slips under, between the two saddle loops and then attaches via Velcro to the cover part under the nose…. Hard to explain unless you see it, but it’s the only cover I’ve been able to use effectively with a saddlebag attached. Additionally, there are two cutouts for the saddle loops in case you wanted to more permanently attach the cover and still use the loops for a bag (but I’m not sure why you’d want to do that IMO. I don’t use one while riding, only while the bike is parked (you do have fenders, I hope). Mine is by Randi Jo ( https://www.randijofab.com/collections/saddle-covers) and has cutouts for bag loops, she has templates for many saddles, including SA. You have time to sort it out, looks like there’s no rain in the forecast any time soon, sadly.

Here's the issue: I have Selle Anatomica leather saddles, the rainy times are coming to the Pacific Northwest and the saddle cover won't fit properly with the bags attached. What's a girl to do?
How do you protect your leather saddle when riding in the rain when you've got a saddle bag attached to the loops on the saddle? Do you use a cover when riding or only when you're off the bike? I'm not using a Brooks saddle...do the loops get in the way of the cover or is the Selle Anatomica design the problem? I'm probably making a bigger deal out of this than necessary, but I don't want to wreck my saddle. Must I remove the saddlebags and use a trunk bag and/or pannier for winter riding? Is there a better solution? I will look forward to your ideas.
