To all Portland/Vancouver-area Rivvylovers: the first Sunday Parkways party is this weekend, 5/16/10 in NE Portland. Enjoy a leisurely ride, skate or stroll along a CAR-FREE loop of neighborhood streets as you tour Inner Northeast Portland, up along the Alameda Ridge, through Concordia and looping back all the way to Woodlawn. Enjoy live music, dancing, games and food vendors at several neighborhood parks along the route.
Roads on the route close to motorized traffic at 10 am and stay that way till 3pm. I'll be there -- though sadly, I don't get to ride the Rivvy; look for me on a dull green Surly BD doing roving wrench support. Weather is due to be partly cloudy, chance of a sprinkle, highs in themid-60s. In short, Perfect Portland cycling weather.
