Thanks, all. I'm learning a lot — I had no idea about sacrificial zinc coatings or the difference between plating and galvanizing. I appreciate the explanation, Wesley and Aaron.
Aaron, about fenders, I should have said I was installing a *new* set — I've always had fenders on my Hunq. I got wider tires and needed bigger fenders to accommodate them. The old fenders were rubbing. I am on the East Coast, so we do have a lot of wet weather. But still, I really don't get why this one rusted so much. Anyway, yes, I've more than gotten my money's worth, Jon. I will recycle Laing! I'm not concerned about the money to replace it; I just want to avert it happening again. The pitting on the rack from the rust is annoying. I'll either clean the old basket or get a new one and do Plasti Dip. Thanks for the suggestion, Garth. I checked it out and yes, the colors! I had no idea abut the variety. Thanks again everyone! On Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 4:30:47 PM UTC-4 lconley wrote: > Now this is a solution!
