As an indexed shifter rider for most of my life, I am surprised at how I have adapted to and enjoy friction shifting. I am still in the process of developing muscle memory for one gear at a time shifting but it is coming along. My assumption is that barrel adjusters are not needed with friction shifting and that any cable slack/stretching can be pulled out if needed; but, fine tuning cable tension is unnecessary. Is this correct? Thanks, Doug
