I prefer quiet hubs which is why I typically stick to Shimano. You can hear 
them if you try but it’s not overwhelming. It seems like there is no mechanical 
benefit from the extra noise so there is no need for me to switch.

My Rohloff’s are louder than I like but I put up with it since I like the hubs.
