Thanks! The cranks are just the Sugino cranks with a rebrand and a slightly
different inner ring spacing, but I mostly got them for the 165 length and
that they were in stock.

Regarding fenders, these particular ones are new, but I used to use 2.2"
tires and the simworks flat65 fenders on the bike and they worked fine (I
use the berthoud QR clips
<https://www.renehersecycles.com/shop/equipment/fenders/berthoud-r-clamps/> on
the front and the 20mm clearance recommended by RH, so doubly cautious).
There has only been one instance where I have felt a little dicey with MTB
trails and fenders, and that was the cinderella trail
<https://www.mtbproject.com/trail/4676438/cinderella-trail> in Joaquin
Miller in Oakland at the steep rock garden.

The 'MTB' trails around Sacramento are all hard pack dirt/sand with some
river rock here and there so nothing I am worried about when it comes to
fenders...and it doesn't get too sticky when it gets wet either. Also less
debris to get caught up in the fenders too, at this point in the year its
all ash :(

Cheers,
Collin in Sactown
