I was able to solve this same problem with a couple of presta valve “nuts” under the bottle cage to space it out juuuust enough to clear the cable while using the same bottle cage bolts. The presta valve nut as a spacer is by no means a new concept, but I can’t help but marvel at their versatility; it’s safe to say that they solve a problem for me at least once a week.
