I went with the Rene Herse cranks when I built up my Sam due to the large 
selection of chainring sized (I went with 44/28).  The Sun XCD cranks 
weren't around at the time, though I do run a XCD rear derailleur.  The 
7075 chainrings (VO and RH) may be a harder alloy than the 6066 on the XCD.
