The action on the Silvers is way smoother. I think the DA's mount better on Paul's Thumbies but that's the only advantage I see with them. The only time I ever "speared" my leg with a BE shifter was on a super steep off-road climb. It was no big deal, just caused the bike to make an unfortunate shift resulting in a dab.
