FWIW, in case you don't mind slumming, whenever I look at the belt section at Goodwill, there are very often decent suspenders for a few dollars. I've grabbed a couple of pairs but rarely if ever use them. If someone needs a gray pair, I might still have mine and will be happy to give it away.
