Wow, Mike, you really planned for this one! It felt like these Sams snuck up on the rest of us, but not YOU. You saw them coming on the horizon months ago! I’m so happy you got the size and color you wanted and that you are getting your very first Rivendell. Just you wait, what a snob it will make of you. Nothing else will be as good or as worth riding...that’s what happened to me, anyway.
And Tracy! Good for you; you will notice there’s a difference between old and new Riv geo. My Betty Foy was a way different ride than my long chainstay Clementine. You’ll have two really great bikes so you can ride whatever flavor you crave. I hope Rivendell knows Path Less Pedaled influenced your purchase - this could be a great tool for them to grow. Sounds like the dark gold was a hit! Can’t believe how fast these sold - faster than the Clems, I think, and the Clems were pretty popular.
