I have been thinking about offering bound back issues, but a) I am way too busy to organize that and b) it would make some people wait for the bound issues, instead of subscribing. The only way I can publish Bicycle Quarterly (and offer back issues) is by having subscribers. They pay for the printing and for the content of the magazine. And when the magazines come back from the printer (almost 50 boxes), I am glad for every copy that goes out the door immediately and doesn't need to be stored in my basement as a back issue. Therefore, any sort of "special" on back issues would give reverse incentives by rewarding procrastinators and punishing subscribers.
There are binderies that will bind your magazines. You could inquire at your library - they usually know somebody who does a good job. It isn't inexpensive, but it's nice to have a bound volume to browse.
