I'll still use twine from time to time, but generally for attaching bells to my saddle. For finishing off bar tape I like to use Hockey tape; it's super sticky, comes in plenty of interesting designs and is only 5 bucks for a roll that will last a pretty long time Generally, we have some, because my son has played hockey for 10 years.
