David, I didn't have a basket on the rear. I use the Banjo Brothers Market Panniers <https://www.amazon.com/Banjo-Brothers-01085BAN-Market-Pannier/dp/B003D4GS74?ref_=ast_bbp_dp&th=1&psc=1>, which are well-made, light, attach/detach quickly, relatively inexpensive, and ride low.
