I've noticed this about hub-gear folders, too..the weight of it really calms down the darty feeling compared to derailer models. So does the belt, oddly, but I think it's psychological: I owned a Silk (I think you have it) and a Dahon Mu Uno with belt drive and the silence has a way of making the ride seem smoother and less involving. Weird, right?
