As I walked the 2003 through the crowded aisles of the Corrales Sprout's
this afternoon, I was accosted by 2 strangers who wanted to praise and
inquire about the bike; particularly liked the faux-hammered VO fenders.

One of them was a woman in her, I'd guess, late 30s or early 40s (anyone
under 50 looks young to me), retired racer for Chris Chance or one of his
spinoffs, carbon fiber riding but with the wit and experience to appreciate
steel quality. The other was a hugely overweight but surprisingly spry man
in his (I'd guess -- anyone over 65 looks old to me) 70s.

That's the typical response; the negative ones -- like the young upstart
who (also inside Sprout's) who called it an "old steelie" are very rare.
