  To answer a question in your orig post, Toyo is a frame shop in Osaka that 
Riv subbed to for several years, until the Yen exchange rate drove the price 
too high.  Atlantis, Rambouillet, Saluki, and Romulus were made there.  
Panasonic, also in Japan, made the single speeder and did some painting as did 
another Japanese paint shop, Urema(?). Wilbury, Glorius and Bombadil are all 
fancier, nicer bikes subbed to Waterford as was Atlantis after Toyo, and 
Hilsen.  Saluki was merged into Hilsen.

Riv always insisted that the build quality was the same no matter where it was 
made.
