According to the Kogswell list, this kind of attachment seemed correlated with shimmying problems. Check http://tinyurl.com/ybow223 for a solution if you have fork crown rack braze-ons like on the Bomba. The removable legs introduce another possible source of flex.
Or how about a Nitto Mini Front, a big Wald basket, and home-made supplemental struts to the dropout braze-ons? Attaching those securely to a Wald basket however won't be easy, given the small diameter of the Wald wire.
