Oh I definitely meant 'cheap' in the pure sense of cost only. Very cheap 
when you compare the Altus derailleur with my previous bike's SRAM Shadow 
clutch derailleur. Did the SRAM change gears any better? *Nope.* Did it 
costs like 8 x the price?

I'm kinda pissed that the general bike industry has drip fed me information 
around which components I needed as a 'serious cyclist'. I think the whole 
Shimano/SRAM hierarchy of components is almost total garbage. Categorize 
components in terms of weight or use-case, not some imaginary metric of 
'betterness'.
