You are right, Ian: the brain injury bit complicates the need/want equation. 
But it can also get used to unjustly justify wants, so I strive to guard 
against that. I am blessed to have a wife and family who lovingly sacrifice 
daily because of my bludgeoned brain. I have every confidence a Boots would 1) 
increse riding range on bikepacking trips; 2) increase ridability of 95% of my 
daily rides. I was startled by the benifits of fixed gear on daily brain 
capacity and thus longterm potention for healing. But the cost of entry to 
answer the question for Boots is significant, and I already have the abundance 
I have with the QB and Hunqabeam. The good news here, is there is no wrong 
answer! Blessing will come from either choice. Grin.
