I had never looked into "the grid" before. Yikes. "AI designed web pages." I'm sure the founders have moved on to "Blockchain designed web pages" by now.
I would normally advise you to export your posts/content and upload it to a Wordpress site your kids "build" you (5 min installation, + choose a theme), but a cursory google search doesn't look like thegrid necessarily lets you export your content. The other platforms you're looking at seem like they're just as prone to vaporizing as the thegrid. Instagram doesn't seem like an equivalent author experience, but it depends on why you're posting. I'd probably use a keyboard on a phone or ipad, rather than an "instagram on the mac" app. Instagram is currently my favorite way to publish my own content <https://www.instagram.com/biketinker/?hl=en>, though. I thought Medium was going to be great, but all I see are "you've reached the maximum article limit" notifications, and they seem to syndicate a lot of Atlantic magazine articles. Maybe "blogging 2.0" arrived when no want wanted blogs anymore.
