What are you wanting to accomplish?

Knobby front/slick rear may make sense in very specific racing applications, 
and a wide, supple slick tire (like Compass offers) grips amazingly well, until 
it doesn’t (mud, snow, loose gravel, wet roots/rocks, especially when 
climbing). But why? I have excellent experience riding Liteskin Schwalbe 
Thunderburts and Racing Ralph tires on 1/3 each asphalt, dirt road, and 
singletrack.
