Whoops, you are talking about a Ram, not an Atlantis; scratch the Rat Trap Pass. But underline again the Elk Pass. On a 23 mm rim it ought to max out at 30 mm. But the ride quality is so good that, IMO, you don't need anything fatter for pavement or firm dirt or gravel (and see BQ photos of the EPs being ridden off road), particularly if you are of a size and weight to ride a 52 cm frame. I ride frames up to 60 c-c but my 57 and 58 Rivs are built for 559 wheels, and the Elk Pass is the cherry on top of the clotted cream on top of the ice cream on top of the cake -- it rides perfectly under my 175 lb on pavement and firm dirt.
