“You must be a strong rider to be able to ride down the road without loads
effecting you.”

Lum,

I don’t really think so but I’ve never raced and almost always ride alone
except when touring and so don’t really have a lot of comparison points.
Sometimes others pass me and sometimes I pass others. I do shift a LOT and pay
a lot of attention to my gearing, trying to fine tune it. I guess it is just
my sensitivity level isn’t very fine tuned and not just as it might relate to
cycling. My wife might complain that it is too hot today or too cold today or
too humid and I’m likely to think “really? Is it hot today? I guess so, I
hadn’t really noticed.” Like I said, I think this can cut both ways.
Sometimes I wish I were more discerning and other times I’m glad I’m not.
