I had to go wider on the BB spindle than what you might need on a non-Riv. I had nothing but chain rub on the front derailleur body either. A wider BB allowed me to raise the FD up the seat tube where the chain could run in the widest part of the FD body while still preventing the outer FD body from hitting the drive-side crank.
