The Beacon is very impressive. I do notice the spillover from the 
symmetrical beam as reflections on road signs ahead in the distance. 

The battery cache and integrated charger are the standout features. The 
cache feature is perfect for uphill trails or slow-going technical sections 
at night. It got me through the last few miles of muddy jeep track in last 
weekend's D2R2 180k.  The integrated charger is icing on the cake, I charge 
the cache battery and any other device during the daytime hours. 

I also occasionally run the light on low during the day for visibility.  
That's a case where the symmetrical beam is an asset, rather than a 
liability.
