I have noticed my most well used B17 has variously needed tensioning after a good soaking. The saddle now has somewhere between 40,000km and 50,000km and I recently actually changed the tension bolt for a homemade longer one, I have also finally drilled and laced the saddle. It is still wonderfully comfortable and I hope to get a lot more miles from it.
I would think you'll need to tension and wax/condition the saddle and after that it should be fine and not banana shaped. Some sort of saddle cover during rainy season could be a good investment.
