Well they say, "Good things come to those who wait", which is the case with the Roadeo that I purchased last weekend from list member Kelly. It was about this time last year that I got it in my head that I wanted a Roadeo and I've been on the look out for a good used example in my size since then (61cm). They don't come up often and when they do, you have to jump, which I did, thankfully with the support of my wife. Kelly had it professionally boxed by his LBS and shipped by Bike Flights/FedEx, arriving on Friday. Since then I've washed, waxed and assembled it. I only got out it for about a mile ride today due to the rain, looking forward taking it on my spirited club ride on Wednesday evening, a pace line with an average speed around 17.5 mph. I'm also looking forward to riding it on the Lancaster Covered Bridge metric century on 8/19 and the Civil War Century on 9/8. The color is something of a metal flake root beer, which I love. It came with Rene Hearse crank, White Inds hubs laced to Velosity rims, 105 brifters, Ultegra rear and a Campy front derailleur. Nitto stem and seat post and Tektro brakes. I installed my own B17 and VP vise pedals. Current build is 23 pounds which I'm very happy with. I'm sure it could be lighter, but I'm not going there. The only big change will be to Mustache bars and vintage Suntour bar end shift levers which I'll install next weekend. Thanks again to Kelly for such an awesome bike! I feel very fortunate.
