In my quest to create a minimalist (including foot shaped) cycling shoe for use with toeclips, I have found that a stiff, thick leather combined with a thin plastic bit works quite well, but am curious if there is better material (nylon/fiberglass and carbon shanks get mentioned as midsoles).
Anyone have a bead on sourcing a few sheets of something I could make into inserts?
