If you are considering a platrack I'd suggest getting some twine and shellac
ready. I recently treated myself to the platrack/SlickerSack combination,
which I love btw, and then noticed a couple of areas on my down tube where
the paint had been chipped off. Since there was a spot on both sides of the
tube I was puzzled at first, then it hit me...it's the platrack.

As you can see in the images the platrack can make contact with the down
tube, at least on a 66cm Quickbeam.

I guess I should have figured out that this would happen but frankly it
never occurred to me till after the damage was done.

It is, of course, a perfect opportunity for twine and shellac and I'll be
doing taking care of that just as soon as I can. Sigh.

And, does anyone know the match for Quickbeam silver paint?

Aloha! Bob
