I have both and they are both great. I have my BMC set up as my drop bar
mountain bike, and my Sam set up as my brevet bike. Both builds are
excellent for the rides they were built for. Both bikes handle great. The
BMC happens to have turned out a bit lighter, but I'm one who doesn't think
that matters. I run the same rims on both those bikes for the explicit
reason that I can run my dynamo front wheel on either. If I was going on a
loaded road tour this summer I'd use one of these two bikes, and I don't
know for sure which one I'd choose. They are both great, versatile bikes.
In my opinion, you can't go wrong with either one, and you can't go wrong
doing business with either vendor. Fretters may buy one and then long for
the other. Content people would pick one and be happy with it forever.
Truly wise people will buy one of each. ;-)
