I have a big stable and I pride myself in using all the bikes in my stable. I call that 'wear leveling'. Some bikes have a tiny niche. For example I have an "Eroica Bike". I have a bike purely for the SFR Adventure Series of brevets as well. It's a big stable with a broad footprint, both conceptually and physically, and I'm out of space.
The bike that I most have to force myself to use is my two-speed singlespeed. Many of our fellow RBW listers go on and on about how great it is to ride a fixed gear or a singlespeed. Based in part on those rave reviews I decided to try it out when a nice used wanna-be Rivendell singlespeed came available. It's a good bike. It's a nice bike. I just don't need a singlespeed in my stable. So, IF you are about my height (5'10", ~86cm PBH, ~75.5cm SH) ANDIF you were bummed out that the 59cm Frank Jones Senor sold out minutes after the pre-sale was announced ANDIF you still have the money for a FJS burning a hole in your pocket THEN let's talk What I have for sale is a MUSA custom Gunnar singlespeed. The original owner spec'd it to copy a Sam Hillborne. It measures 58cm c-to-t. It has a ~57cm c-to-c effective top tube. It takes 700c wheels, long reach caliper brakes, and can take 38mm tires with fenders. It is a battleship grey color, chosen to match the grey of the original Hunqapillars. The read OLD is 130mm. Here is a photo of the bike: https://www.flickr.com/photos/45758191@N04/14035663842 Here is an album of me pulling the build together: https://www.flickr.com/photos/45758191@N04/albums/72157642798847383 As it sits right now, here is the complete build list Frameset: Gunnar Custom with Crosshairs Graphics, Dura Ace threaded headset Wheelset: Mavic Open Pro 32h rims, DT spokes, Phil 130mm freewheel bolt-on rear hub (not fixed, not flipflop), White Industries 16/19 Dos Eno.
