Tom,

She said something like oh they are so different. I'm not sure I'll get a
response from her that will satisfy your interest. She does describe both
as seeming light and responsive. In lieu a more extensive response from her
I will offer that:
The Roadini has a 34/48 crank from RBW and drop bars (nitto dream I think),
and compass 32mm tires. The Hilborne has a typical RBW crank (24/36/46 I
think), albatross bars, and until a day or two ago 40mm fatty rumpkin tires
(now it has 38mm compass tires). I suspect that the differences in the way
she experiences the two bikes stems far more from the bars and the tires
than the frames (keeping in mind of course that the Roadini probably
wouldn't fit 38mm tires).
This spring we have been doing training rides sponsored by a local club as
prep for the "cinderella classic" tomorrow. When she started doing those
she was riding the Roadini. She had some problems with upper back and neck
which were the limiting factors for how long she felt she could ride. At my
suggestion she tried riding the Sam instead, which went well, and that will
be the bike she rides for the event tomorrow. In riding with her I haven't
noticed her being faster or slower on either bike.

hope some of that is some help, though I fear it may not be
ted
