Dave, I'm 66 and don't plan to use drops on this frame. I went with the 53 because I wanted 650b wheels. I used Noodles on my Bleriot ten or so years ago and liked them though I did not often use the hooks. As the years pass and traffic increases, I now prefer to be more upright...but not 90 degrees. Golden Years...yeah right. :-)
You are correct on the 51 JA and drops. Ditto for the 50 MIT Atlantis.
