No spacer, cork or otherwise, needed on my build. I just used one of the leather washers at the chainstay bridge. The cork spacer is a nice included item with the Mud Butlers. The other nice thing about these fenders is that the seat stay clamp is plasti-wrapped making for a silent install. Every set of metal fenders should include this thoughtful part. Well done Handsome.
