Yep, no photos. I lost a vintage Deore XT M730 derailleur once to a power line flag marker (the ones on a small wire, stuck into the ground). The wire managed to insert itself into a chain link as I rode by, which then jammed the chain in the deraileur, which swung up and broke right through the upper knuckle casting. It took a couple spokes with it in its death throes, but it broke before it bent the derailleur hanger on the frame.
It's too bad, because that derailleur probably had 30 more years of service life left in it!
